Malika Booker is a British poet of Guyanese & Grenadian parentage. She’s the founder of ‘Malika’s Poetry Kitchen’. Her poetry collection ‘pepper seed’ was published by ‘Peepal Tree Press’ in 2013 & longlisted for the ‘OCM Bocas 2014 Prize’. ‘Pepper Seed’ was also shortlisted for the ‘Seamus Heaney Centre’ 2014 prize for first full collection. Malika’s the cultural fellow in creative writing/ literary arts at Leeds University. She was also the first British poet to be a fellow at Cave Canem & the inaugural poet in residence at the Royal Shakespeare Company.
R. A. Villanueva’s first book, ‘reliquaria’ (u. nebraska press, 2014), won the Prairie Schooner Book Prize’ & work from that collection won the inaugural ‘ninth letter literary award’ for poetry. New writing’s forthcoming in ‘the wolf’, ‘the american poetry review’, & elsewhere. A founding editor of ‘tongue: a journal of writing & art’; he lives in Brooklyn & London.
Paul Cree ::
Paul’s a writer & performer with a background in music as a rapper/ mc. He likes to write about his environment & began performing poems & stories in 2007. 2012 saw two of his poems get published & in 2013 he wrote & performed his first solo show, ‘a tale from the bedsit’, produced by the Roundhouse as part of their Last Word Festival. Currently, aside touring ‘a tale from the bedsit’, he’s collaborating with Conrad Murray, under the guise of b.e (beats & elements) on their first theatre show, ‘no milk for the foxes’.
