Music Of The Spheres @LimeWharf

Music Of The Spheres @LimeWharf

Opening: 2nd April, 6-10pm (with bar and a talk by Charlotte Jarvis)
Exhibition: 3rd-16th April, Weds-Sat, 11am-5pm

About the project:

Music of the Spheres utilises new bioinformatics technology developed by Dr. Nick Goldman to encode a new musical recording by the Kreutzer Quartet into DNA. The DNA has been suspended in soap solution and will be used by visual artist Charlotte Jarvis to create performances and installations filled with bubbles. The ‘recording’ will fill the air, pop on visitors skin and literally bathe the audience in music. The project was launched at ARS Electronica 2013 with a sample recording distributed in the form of bubble bottles at the TOTAL RECALL symposium
This is part of a series of exhibitions, installations and performances that make up the Music of the Spheres project, led by visual artist Charlotte Jarvis. The project will be exhibited at Limewharf as a work in progress. We will be using this show to test out our ideas and speak to the public about how the project is communicated.
