Nonclassical present Sarah Dacey & Fontaine Liang

Join us in our first event at LimeWharf for an exciting collaboration between Soprano Sarah Dacey and Harpist Fontane Liang.

Fontane Liang

A versatile and dynamic musician, Fontane’s repertoire covers a wide range of styles – baroque and classical to contemporary and jazz. She has been pushing the frontiers of contemporary art and music, collaborating with composers, artists, dancers and filmmakers. 2013 will start off with a performance for cult UK record label, Nonclassical and a premiere of her original music for the film ‘Adelaidemann’. Her ability to engage the masses across a variety of styles makes her unique as a solo artist on recital scheme, Live Music Now. In demand as a chamber and orchestral musician, She has played with London Sinfonietta, Germany’s MusikFabrik, performed in various BBC Composer’s Festivals, live Radio 3 broadcasts and toured Japan with the Pacific Music Festival Orchestra under the baton of Christoph Eschenbach.

Sarah Dacey

An advocate of new music, Sarah has worked with many of today’s finest composers including Robert Fokkens, Anna Meredith, Paul Mealor, Gavin Bryars, Errollyn Wallen, Mica Levi and Dai Fujikura. She has sung in countless UK premieres including those of Stockhausen’s Litanie and Xenakis’ Idmen. In 2010 she performed in the Macedonian premiere of Xenakis’ Nuits.

Sarah is also a member of the critically acclaimed juice vocal ensemble, a female a cappella trio specialising in contemporary music. They have performed in many prestigious venues such as the Purcell Rooms, the Wigmore Hall, the Roundhouse, St. Martin-in-the-Fields, St. John’s Smith Square and the BFI. They’ve performed live on Radio 3, Radio 4′s Woman’s Hour and have appeared at fantastically diverse festivals such as Latitude and the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas. International appearances include the Tampere Vocal Festival in Finland, La Comete in Châlons-en-Champagne, Settimana di Musica Sacra in Florence and the Spor Festival in Denmark. As well as commissioning new works, juice also write music for themselves. Sarah’s own arrangement of a traditional ballad, Cruel Mother, was described by the Daily Telegraph as “musically ingenious” and features on their debut album on the Nonclassical label.
