Creative regeneration in the East – a curated conversation

Creative regeneration in the east co-curated and co-chaired by Lucy Bullivant, Founder and Editor, Urbanista.org and Thomas Ermacora, urbanist and founder, Clear Village, creative regeneration specialists, and creator, LimeWharf, is the first event of a new residency by Urbanista.org at the Recode Gallery at LimeWharf.

What is the creative regeneration legacy in the East of London on the ground? Following the huge success of the Olympics, observers across the world perceive the official legacy plan as one that will bring long term transformation to an under-resourced area of the city.

Creative regeneration of the East relies on high quality commissioned landscape infrastructure projects as imaginative means to relate the different aspects of the emerging district, connect it to surrounding areas and to nurture local natural resources that support community living.

Instead of the merely quantative measures, economic expediency or piecemeal ventures of conventional masterplans, are we seeing the advance of meaningful and resilient adaptive strategies in East London?

Speakers: Tom Holbrook (5th Studio), Eleanor Fawcett (LLDC) and Graeme Sutherland (Adams & Sutherland)
