Resis’Dance Live Sessions

Resis’Dance brings you a live show for our 5th event! Resis’Dance is about women taking hold of the tech and decks, smashing the patriarchy and supporting under funded radical grass roots organisations.

All money raised will be going to SOAS Detainee Support. We will also be paying our artists on the night and some of the Resis’Dance crew.

SOAS Detainee Support is a group that works in solidarity with people in immigration detention. We are totally abolitionist in our stance toward immigration detention and prisons — while other visiting groups and charities seek to reform detention and make it ‘nicer’, we recognise that incarceration in any form is inhumane and violent. This means that we don’t have relationships with centres, and we support people in any way we can to resist and end detention & deportations.

(1) We visit people in detention and prisons to break the isolation of detention. SDS is led by the needs and wants of the people in detention, giving emotional and practical support where and when needed.
(2) We organise and support movements that fight against detention, incarceration & the UK’s racist + xenophobic immigration system.

They will be holding a stall on the night so you can find out about the amazing work they do and get involved.

We will also have an XMAS RAFFLE with amazing presents to win. So far we have:
2x free tickets to do Yoga with Roxanne Halsey
1 Sisters Uncut colouing book provided by Lucie Weatherwax
A tarot reading and your personalised natal chart prepared by Phoebe Apollo
3x learn to DJ sessions with resident ResisDance DJ Gin
Breakfast cooked by resident DJ Mica Coca
